Biodiversity protection is a key element of PT Merdeka Gold Resources’ environmental responsibility. We carry out staged reclamation and revegetation to restore the ecological function of areas affected by mining activities, in accordance with environmental impact assessments, post-mining land use plans, and technical regulations issued by relevant government authorities.

These efforts begin at the construction phase using native and productive plant species, with the goal of ensuring post-mining areas regain ecological function and benefit surrounding communities.

We have developed a Biodiversity Management Plan (BMP) based on both national guidelines and international standards, including IFC Performance Standard 6. The BMP outlines mitigation strategies and governance mechanisms to safeguard flora and fauna, especially endemic and protected species.

Independent experts conduct biodiversity monitoring on a regular basis to ensure our operations remain aligned with ecological preservation goals.
