Pani Gold Mine Continues Support for Education and Religious Life in Pohuwato
Pani Gold Mine continues to demonstrate its commitment to community development around its operational area. Through its Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) program, Pani Gold Mine has been renovating educational facilities and places of worship in Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province.
After completing the renovation of three elementary schools (SDN 02 Buntulia, SDN 05 Buntulia, and SDN 09 Buntulia) and SMPN 02 Buntulia in Hulawa Village, the Pani Gold Mine is now carrying out improvements to the building of SMPN 01 Buntulia in Taluduyunu Utara Village.
“We truly appreciate this school renovation. We believe it will be completed on time and bring great benefits, especially for the students,” said Aryuningsih Indira Abdur Rahman Zakaria, S.Pd, a teacher at SMPN 01 Buntulia, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. “Thank you to everyone who has shown concern, especially the company.”
As of October 1, 2025, the Pani Gold Project has officially commenced operations and is now known as the Pani Gold Mine, marking the start of gold mining activities in the area. The renaming reflects the transition from the project development stage to full mining operations, in line with standard terminology in the mining industry. Pani Gold Mine is managed by PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk, a subsidiary of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk.
The mine’s CSR Manager, Mahesha Lugiana, stated that the school renovation program represents the company’s strong commitment to improving education quality in Bumi Panua. “Pani Gold Mine continues to contribute to the local government and community through various PPM programs,” Mahesha said.
In addition to the education sector, Pani Gold Mine is also continuing the renovation of the Baiturrahim Grand Mosque in Pohuwato, located in the Marisa Block Plan area. Previously, the company completed the renovation of the mosque’s ablution and toilet facilities, which were inaugurated by Pohuwato Deputy Regent Iwan S. Adam. He expressed his appreciation for the improvements, noting that the new ablution area now appears cleaner, more beautiful, and more comfortable—comparable to facilities found in large city mosques.
Currently, renovation work focuses on repairing the mosque’s roof and enhancing its garden and courtyard, creating a more pleasant and peaceful worship environment. “We hope these renovations will make the Grand Mosque more comfortable and encourage more people to worship there,” Mahesha added.
The mosque’s management representative, Hasan Baderan, also expressed gratitude for the company’s contribution in beautifying the landmark place of worship for Pohuwato residents. “Progress has been good,” said Hasan. He hopes that the work will continue smoothly according to plan without disrupting worship activities.
